where to start with cosmetic procedures

Cosmetic procedures come in many forms. You can have some procedures done to shape your body or others to remove the damage of time to your face and neck. So, how do you decide which cosmetic procedures you want to have done? This is something that I struggled with for several years before I took the first step of improving my appearance through cosmetic surgery and procedures. I created this blog with the sole purpose of helping others struggling with the decisions that come with having cosmetic procedures performed find the solutions that will best suit their personal needs and desires.

Are You A Man And Going Bald? What You Can Do About It

If you are getting older, you will notice changes in your body. One change you may notice is you are losing your hair, and may even have bald spots. Below is some information about what causes this, as well as some options you have to help with this problem.

Baldness

According to the American Hair Loss Association, male pattern baldness (MPB) is what accounts for over 95% of hair loss in men.  Three things that may cause baldness include:

  • Wearing tight braids, such as dreadlocks, or wearing hair back all the time
  • Trichotillomania, which is an obsessive compulsive disorder that causes habitual pulling or plucking of hair from the head.
  • An autoimmune disease, such as arthritis or diabetes. This is because your body's immune system attacks your hair follicles.
  • If you have a lot of people in your family that have gone bald or have some hair loss, the cause of your hair loss could simply be genetics.

What you can do about it

When it comes to treating hair loss, you have many options to choose from including:

Vitamin D3

Vitamin D3, which is a form of vitamin D that is super active, keeps your skin and bones healthy, and according to the journal Stem Cells Translational Medicine, vitamin D3 can boost stem cells to induce hair growth.

To raise the vitamin D3 levels in your body, step outside. Spending time in the sunlight is a very effective way of raising your levels. Talk with your doctor about how long you should spend time in the sun. They will likely tell you a few minutes a day is enough.

There are also certain foods you can eat, such as egg yolks, fatty fish, cheese, and beef liver. All of these foods contain small amounts of vitamin D3. There are also supplements that you can take. If you choose supplements, talk with your doctor about the right dosage you should use.

Hair Transplant Procedure

If you have a lot of hair loss or you are really bothered by it, you should consider a hair transplant. If you choose this, talk with the doctor about what the procedure entails and what the best hair transplant procedure is for you. When they are finished, you will have a head full of natural looking hair.

If you do not want a hair transplant and nothing else is working out for you, talk with your doctor about a topical solution or a medication to help you with this problem.
