where to start with cosmetic procedures

Cosmetic procedures come in many forms. You can have some procedures done to shape your body or others to remove the damage of time to your face and neck. So, how do you decide which cosmetic procedures you want to have done? This is something that I struggled with for several years before I took the first step of improving my appearance through cosmetic surgery and procedures. I created this blog with the sole purpose of helping others struggling with the decisions that come with having cosmetic procedures performed find the solutions that will best suit their personal needs and desires.

Interested In A Tummy Tuck? Explore These Three Options

If you want to remove loose skin and extra fat from your abdominal region, you can accomplish both of these objectives with a tummy tuck. Your surgeon will rid the abdominal region of excessive skin, complete any necessary repairs to your muscles, and use liposuction to rid the stomach of fat.

However, not all tummy tucks are the same. Here are three different tummy tuck procedures that might be right for you. Your desired results and your recovery needs will influence which procedure is best for your body.

1. A Mini Tummy Tuck

You may worry that the recovery from a standard tummy tuck is too extensive for your lifestyle, or you may feel that the appearance of your stomach does not warrant a conventional abdominoplasty. The mini tummy tuck may be a better procedure for your needs and preferences.

During a mini tummy tuck, your surgeon will focus on the area between the belly button and the pubic region. They will remove your extra skin and complete any required muscle repairs. This is a much less intensive procedure that does not require the surgeon to move your belly button. Your doctor can usually use twilight anesthesia instead of general anesthesia, and the recovery period is significantly shorter.

2. An Extended Tummy Tuck

If the appearance of your abdominal region leaves you with concerns that a regular tummy tuck will not sufficiently address your stomach woes, you may prefer the results of an extended tummy tuck. The extended tummy tuck will improve the appearance of regions in close proximity to your stomach, such as the lower back and hips.

Though this procedure has the longest recovery period (3 to 4 weeks), it also yields the most dramatic results. Your surgeon will also change the placement of your belly button.

This procedure gives your surgeon the ability to remove more skin and fat than other procedures. Since the skin is pulled so tightly, you may notice improvements in the appearance of your upper thighs as well.

3. The Standard Tummy Tuck

The standard tummy tuck is a proven way to effectively tighten and smooth the appearance of your abdominal region. After removing extra fat, your doctor pulls the stomach muscles and remain skin taunt, creating the appearance of a smooth stomach.

Expect your surgeon to use general anesthesia during the procedure. You will need about 2 weeks to recover from the operation, and your surgeon will have to change the positioning of your belly button during the procedure.
