where to start with cosmetic procedures

Cosmetic procedures come in many forms. You can have some procedures done to shape your body or others to remove the damage of time to your face and neck. So, how do you decide which cosmetic procedures you want to have done? This is something that I struggled with for several years before I took the first step of improving my appearance through cosmetic surgery and procedures. I created this blog with the sole purpose of helping others struggling with the decisions that come with having cosmetic procedures performed find the solutions that will best suit their personal needs and desires.

Got Lipstick Lines? 2 Options to Treat Them

Lip wrinkles are often referred to as lipstick lines or lip lines, which are small vertical lines that appear above or on your lips. Once you get these lines it can be difficult to conceal or remove them. These lines are often due to aging, as well as smoking, getting too much sun, and pursing of the lips, such as if you suck on a straw. Fortunately, there are treatment options and botox services available to you, two of which are listed below.

Botox

Botox is one option you have to treat your lipstick lines. You should see a dermatologist to have this treatment done. Botox is a type of toxin that is used to treat wrinkles, as well as other things, such as migraine headaches, lazy eye, and neck spasms.

Botox is a gel that is injected into your skin with a thin needle. The dermatologist will wash your face thoroughly before they start and then inspect your skin to determine where they need to inject the Botox. Once injected, you will start to see results in a week or so. This will depend on how deep or large your wrinkles are.

Botox is a temporary solution to lipstick lines. Over time, you will notice the wrinkles start to appear again. You will need to return to a dermatologist to have the Botox injections done again. How long they last will depend on your personal situation. The dermatologist can give you information about this.

Derma Fillers

Another treatment option is derma fillers, which are also done by a dermatologist or other doctor. The filler is injected into the wrinkle to fill it in, which will make it disappear or appear much less noticeable. You can also use derma fillers to have fuller lips. The filler contains hyaluronic acid that is a soft gel that helps your body produce elastin and collagen.

Common side effects that you will have after getting derma fillers are bruising and swelling at the injection site. The area may also be red and tender when touched. All these symptoms will go away within a few days in most cases.

The dermatologist can tell you how long the filler will last as it will depend on the type of filler you receive. Some fillers may last a few months, others a few years.

The dermatologist that you see can tell you of other treatment options you have to help with lipstick lines.
